Gary L. Willis

Gary L. Willis is the Director of Human Resources at Shodair Children's Hospital. He has over 35 years of experience in human resources, gained in the private, public, for-profit and nonprofit sectors.

Gary earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and completed post-graduate courses in business administration/human resources and real estate. Gary completed over 27 years of service to the State of Montana, working at five different State agencies. During that time, Gary was named as Employee of the Year at the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation by Governor Marc Racicot in recognition of the advances in human resources management Gary had instituted.

Gary was elected and served two terms on the Board of Directors for the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), representing Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming. Gary has been elected for three two-year terms to the Board of Directors of the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA/AHA) and is in process of completing his last term as Director at Large. Gary is a charter member of the Governor’s Workforce Investment Board and served on the executive and accountability committees under three governors. Gary has served for over 25 years as a charter member on the Job Service Employment Committee and is currently Vice Chair. Gary was also elected as Vice Chair for the Montana State Employer's Council for 2009 and will serve as Chair for 2010.
